It all started with a Wallykazaam episode…The Nice Ninjas. Then came American Ninja Warrior (which I think Nolin has only ever seen little clips on Youtube). This led to scaling walls, flying 5 year olds throughout the house, and impromptu obstacle courses.
More recently there was also the Magic Treehouse book Night of the Ninjas.
All of these things have created a fascination with Ninjas for Nolin and ultimately led to his first publication. Granted I missed the boat on writing about this milestone since it happened back in August, but I was reminded about it when Nolin picked up My Grandma’s a Ninja at the library this week.
On August 4th, Nolin (and Mommy) became published authors. Since Jenn has been staying home with the kids, she continues to find new ways to inspire and challenge them.
This was a book that they worked on and created together while Grace took a nap. So without further adieu…I present (the soon to be New York Times Bestseller) Ninjas That Are Strong!
100 Ninjas saw 100,000,000 bad guys.
100 ninjas see 1,000,000 sharks.
Ninjas see Grace, Mommy and Daddy.
Who will win? The Ninjas (Looking at the picture, I think Daddy could have taken the ninja)
Ninjas See Nolin. (wait for it…)
Who will win? Nolin! (I bet you didn’t see that surprise ending coming?!)
This is seriously one of my favorite books ever. It also taught me a very important lesson…Don’t mess with Nolin if he is wearing a super hero cape!
