Being A Dad

Father’s Day 2012, was a great day and a great weekend (minus Nolin’s earlier altercation with the sidewalk to start it off).

We woke up on Sunday morning and Nolin greeted my with a hug and “Happy Father’s Day Daddy!”. After some play time with the train tracks, we got the car packed up and headed to the beach.

Jenn found this new area of beach in a State Park that has a lagoon type of area on one side and the ocean on the other. It is perfect for Nolin. Even though the beach was crowded, we pretty much had this area to our selves (and about ten thousand miniature crabs).

Father’s Day is a great time to reflect on being a dad and also to really appreciate my father and our relationship. As I have gotten older and experienced fatherhood myself, I begin to see more similarities between us. Which as a child is kind of scarylove you Dad!

Jenn and I also spent some time this weekend going back through older blog posts, laughing and realizing how great this whole trip has been.

I may not get it right all the time, and I am sure as we keep moving forward, there will be several missteps, but one thing is for certain that I am couldn’t be luckier than to be a husband to a great wife and to be a dad to an amazing son.
