As an ode to the New Year, our friend George recently posted a link to the Dalai Lama’s 20 Ways to Get Good Karma. As we enter a brand new year, I thought it offered a good road map for things I would like to accomplish in 2012.
The 20 ways all offer great bits of wisdom, but there was one that stuck with Jenn & I immediately. Over the years, we have had many friends and met so many people who have faced roadblocks in their desire to start a family. Every story is different and unique, but this lesson just seems to fit perfectly.
#4: Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck
Since we first met him, I have loved sharing the story of our journey to Nolin and I am honored when others share their stories, but I often don’t feel qualified to speak to people about the heartache that may be associated with “not getting what you want”.
Regardless, I hope that our story can help other people realize that sometimes “not getting what you want” truly can be the most wonderful stroke of luck.
Yeah, I am pretty sure 2012 is going to be a great year!
